Track Day or Dyno Day Prep. Readiness Check in Slough
A trackday or a hire-the-dyno day is too expensive to lose to a silly fault. Brake fluid, coolant strength, tyre condition, boost system integrity, fluid levels, fastener checks, fuel quality. All of it matters when the car is being pushed properly for hours, not just driven to Tesco. We do pre-event readiness checks every week at our Slough workshop for drivers across Berkshire heading to Brands, Goodwood, Castle Combe, Bedford or a private dyno hire.
It is not an MOT, it is a confidence check. Honest pass or no-go, with a written list of what we found and what we did. Most of our customers come back from the day having driven hard with zero issues. That is the point.
What a Slough track prep check covers
- Brake pad and disc thickness measurement. fronts and rears measured and recorded. Pads under 5mm get the warning, under 3mm get a swap recommendation
- Brake fluid moisture test. racing brakes boil moisture-contaminated fluid. We test and recommend a flush if needed
- Coolant strength and condition. low concentration coolant boils sooner. We test specific gravity and top up properly
- Tyre tread depth, pressure and condition. all four, plus a check for sidewall damage or uneven wear. Trackday-correct cold pressures suggested
- Underbody fastener and skid-plate check. anything loose gets tightened, anything missing gets noted, before it falls off mid-session
- Boost system integrity (turbo cars). quick smoke test of the charge-air system. Cheap insurance against limp mode at the apex
- Oil level, condition and grade. fresh oil is recommended before a hard event. We will quote a service if it is due

Honda Civic Type R, Ford Focus RS and Fiesta ST, Renault Megane RS, Toyota Yaris GR, BMW M2 and M3, Audi RS3, Golf R, Cupra, Caterham, Lotus Elise and Exige, MX-5 trackday cars, BMW E46 M3s. Post-event check too
After a hard trackday, the car wants a once-over. Bedded-in brakes need a pad and disc visual check, coolant level should be confirmed, oil level after engine cool-down should be re-tested, wheel torque rechecked, tyres assessed for chunking or grain. We do post-event checks at our Slough workshop too, often the day after, so any wear or damage gets caught before normal road use.
