Tesla Alloy Wheel Refurbishment in Slough
Most Tesla wheels in the UK are one of three things: the 18" Aero on Model 3 (with the plastic covers - under those is a fairly plain silver wheel), the 19" Sport on Model 3 and 20" Induction on Model Y, or the 20" and 21" Überturbine on Model S and X. The Induction and Überturbine are diamond-cut faces with painted pockets - same finish type as Audi and BMW M-Sport, same failure mode: lacquer goes white round the edges, then the silver oxidises underneath.
We strip, re-cut on the lathe and re-lacquer so they go back on looking factory.
What we see most on Teslas
Kerb damage on 20" Inductions is the most common single job. Model Y is wide, the wheels stick out, and London kerbs do the rest. Lacquer peel on 21" Überturbines is the long-term one - they look stunning new and need refurbing properly to stay that way.
Tesla wheels are heavy because of the car, so kerb hits hard enough to dent or crack the rim aren't rare on potholed roads round Slough and the M4 slip roads. Crack welding and re-profiling first, then refurb. If the impact's also split the tyre sidewall, we'll fit a new tyre while the wheel's off.
Colour change on Model 3 and Model Y
Plenty of Model 3 and Y owners come in wanting the Induction wheels done in full satin black or grey instead of the two-tone factory look. That's a powder coat colour change, full strip first.
